The 2006 model year was the first year of the LS 450 sedan, and the first year of the LS 460 and LS 460 L High-Output sedan. The LS 460 L High-Output sedan was available with a 3.5-liter V6 engine that produced up to 300 hp (224 kW) and 335 lb·ft (460 Nm) of torque, and a V8 engine with up to 400 hp (300 kW) and 398 lb·ft (525 Nm) of torque. The LS 460 sedan and LS 460 L High-Output sedan also received a 6-speed automatic transmission as standard equipment, replacing the 5-speed automatic transmission offered in previous models. The first-generation LS 460 sedan was discontinued after the 2006 model year. The LS 460 L High-Output sedan was discontinued after the 2010 model year. The LS 460 L sedan returned as a 2013 model. In 2008, the LS 460 L received a new model designation as the LS 460 L Hybrid.[60]
